What is the NISS for?
It's your Portuguese Social Security number - needed to work legally, access public services and healthcare, and it's required for routes like the D3 visa.
Do I need it for my visa?
Some routes require it (for example the D3). We tell you whether your specific visa needs a NISS and handle the registration.
Can you register it for me?

Do I need a NISS if I'm self-employed?
