FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need a visa to open a company?

Not necessarily, but company formation is commonly paired with the D2 business visa. We can handle the company on its own or as part of your D2 process.

Can it be done remotely?

Much of it can. We guide you through the incorporation and the documents required, and coordinate any steps that need your input.

Do you write the business plan?

Yes - a business plan tailored to the Portuguese market is part of the service, covering market, projections and viability.

What type of company will it be?

Most clients form a Sociedade por Quotas (Lda.), a private limited company that suits the majority of small and medium businesses. We confirm the best structure for your plans.

How much share capital do I need?

An Lda. can be formed with a nominal share capital from €1 per shareholder, though a more realistic amount is advisable for credibility and operations. We advise on the right level for your business.

Do I need a Portuguese address and accountant?

Yes - a registered address and a certified accountant (contabilista certificado) are required. We arrange the referrals and help you put both in place.
